Observations on life:
Man, this was just unbelievable when the METS won the National League East title. I had a bunch of friends over for the game since I had the largest plasma TV screen of us all. We had a raucous time watching the game from my condo on the upper West side of Manhattan. Of course we would have preferred to be at the game, but here we were at my place. Beer, food, friends and the Mets clinching the National League East Division regular season championship by defeating the Cincinnati Reds 10-2. The METS went on to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Division Series in five games and swept the Chicago Cubs in the National League Championship Series. It was such a bummer when they lost to the Kansas City Royals in five games in the 2015 World Series. However, that night when they won the National League East title, hurrah!
If this METS National League East series had happened a couple a years ago, I would have been so thoroughly trashed because of the alcohol, I probably wouldn't have remembered a thing. I admit. My drinking was out of control. BUT for my best friend who had watch the results of his uncle who signed up for a program at a site called LifeBac whose mantra is Change Your Relationship with Alcohol. Make Drinking a Choice, not a Habit or Need, I would be deep into the depths of AUD. I'm serious. DO read this to stop drinking. LifeBac changed my life. Following their program with the use of baclofen, not only did it help reduce cravings, but I was able to reach my goal which was to drink moderately. I didn't have to stop drinking, but the meds took away the craving to keep on drinking. I was able to set my own goals and go at my own pace. I enjoyed unlimited access to the LifeBac's vast array of tools, an online support group, and my own LifeBac guide who helped shape my own journey and supported me the entire way. I am so thankful for that change in my life. ANd hey, I got to enjoy an amazing National League East series with our own METs winning.
Of course the next day when I was cleaning up and noticed several food and drink stains on my carpet, I wasn’t so thrilled. I consulted with my next door neighbor about the rug. She’s just great. She has given me such helpful advice and suggestions for a number of problems I didn’t know how to deal with. When I told her about the rug she laughed and said not to worry She had the best professional rug cleaning Manhattan company that will solve my problem. I called the number she gave me for the Agara Rug Cleaning company. A rep arrived that afternoon, took a look at the stains, gave me a free estimate, rolled up the rug and with an assistant took it away. Two weeks later, the rug arrived back at my place. When they rolled it out, you would have thought it was a brand new rug. I was advised to get all my rugs cleaned every couple of years, not just when they were stained. Your rugs will last much longer. Good advice.
Meanwhile the New York Mets haven't had a great season since 2015. 2019 New York Mets season was the franchise's 58th season and the team's 11th season at Citi Field. Despite improving on their 77–85 campaign from last year by 9 games with an 86-76 record, they were three games behind the Milwaukee Brewers for a wild card spot and thus missed the playoffs for the third consecutive season. That's a bummer to say the least.
